What pushes the price up

  • 3 of the 7 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
  • 1 of the 7 shows a quote request instead of a price.
  • We found no free plan among the 7, and 4 offer a time-limited trial.

What to know about each price

  • Printavo: Plans step up by user count (2, 5, 20), and extra users cost $19 a month.
  • ShopVOX: A monthly base fee plus a monthly fee for every user after the first ($29 on Express, $49 on PRO).
  • Sign OS: A flat monthly price per plan with a user cap (3, 10, 20 or 30), and extra users cost $10 a month per 10. No onboarding fee, yearly billing saves 10%, and the page does not say whether GST is included.
  • PrinterFlo: One flat price per shop with unlimited users. Card payments go through the shop's own Stripe account at Stripe's fees, and onboarding and migration help are free.
  • DecoNetwork: Extra staff accounts cost A$10 a month, and the FAQ says month to month with no refunds.
  • InkSoft: Both plans list a 'free one-time software license' and the page does not say whether that is a waived fee. No trial, setup fee or contract terms appear on the page.
  • PrintSmith Vision: Quote-only: the page says to contact the team for pricing tailored to the business. No trial or free plan is mentioned.

What to look for in print shops software

Quote by size, quantity and stock, keep the job ticket with the job, and know what each job really made.

A tool for print shops has to fix these:

  • Quotes depend on one person.
  • Job tickets are paper.
  • Stock of paper and substrates is a guess.

Our price

We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: print shops.

Questions

About the price

What is the cheapest print shop software?

Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 2 in A$, from A$89 to A$239 a month; 2 in US$, from US$109 to US$179 a month; 2 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.

Why do prices differ so much?

Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.

How are print jobs quoted?

Planned: from the spec: size, quantity, stock, finish and turnaround, against your price tables.

Does it track paper and substrate?

Planned: yes through the stock engine: sheets and rolls counted and reordered.

Can a customer approve a proof?

Planned: a link to the proof and a recorded approval.
