How much does membership management software cost?

Of the 5 we could price for associations: 2 in A$, from A$58 to A$89 a month; 1 in US$, at US$66 a month; 2 with no currency named. Ours is not set yet.

Each price is from the company's own pricing page on the date shown, in its own currency; we do not convert. A page we could not read is marked could not read, and a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only. Prices can differ by country.

What pushes the price up

  • 1 of the 6 charges per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
  • 2 of the 6 offer a free plan, and 3 offer a time-limited trial.
  • 1 of the 6 states a setup, hardware or licence cost on top of the monthly price (the notes below say which).

What to know about each price

  • Wild Apricot: The page lists no setup, per-transaction or cancellation fees; payment-provider fees apply, and payment systems other than Personify cost an additional fee.
  • MemberSpace: On top of the subscription MemberSpace keeps a share of every sale (5% on Starter, 2% on Growth, 1% on the custom tier), not counting Stripe's processing fees.
  • Raklet: Every plan charges a transaction fee on payments, from 4% + $0.60 on Free to 1% + $0.60 on Premium, and payments run through Stripe.
  • TidyHQ: Both plans charge a service fee on membership, event and shop transactions (3% + 0.20 on Starter, 1% + 0.20 on Pro), and Stripe's own processing fees come on top. The page says there are no setup fees and no lock-in contracts.
  • Hello Club: Priced by member count and number of sports or activities, with GST extra and unlimited admins.
  • Glue Up: All contracts are billed annually by default, and the page says pricing varies with organisation size and requirements.

What to look for in associations software

Joining, renewals and events for a club, without chasing a list that lives in three places.

A tool for associations has to fix these:

  • Renewals are chased by email.
  • The member list is in three places.
  • Event bookings are separate.

Our price

We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: associations.

Questions

About the price

What is the cheapest membership management software?

Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 2 in A$, from A$58 to A$89 a month; 1 in US$, at US$66 a month; 2 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.

Why do prices differ so much?

Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.

How does a renewal work?

Planned: a reminder, a payment link and the membership updated when it is paid.

Can new members join online?

Planned: a joining page with payment.

Can it send a newsletter?

Email is part of the engine; a newsletter screen is planned.
