Each price is from the company's own pricing page on the date shown, in its own currency; we do not convert. A page we could not read is marked could not read, and a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only. Prices can differ by country.
What pushes the price up
- 2 of the 6 we could read show a quote request instead of a price.
- We found no free plan among the 6 we could read, and 3 offer a time-limited trial.
- 1 of the 6 we could read states a setup, hardware or licence cost on top of the monthly price (the notes below say which).
What to know about each price
- Storesync: The base price covers 100 units and each extra unit is charged on top, all ex GST. Card and bank transfer payments carry fees that the page calls simple and transparent but gives no figures for.
- QuikStor: A $999 implementation fee for hands-on setup and data migration appears in the pricing FAQ, although the plan block says implementation help is unlimited. Contracts are month to month and cancelling needs 30 days notice.
- Unit Trac: Card payments (2.9% + $1.00) and ACH (1.9% + $1.00, USA only) are optional extras, and gate automation is $30 a gate a month and a premium website $50 a month. The page says no setup fees and no contracts.
- Storeganise: Setup is free and each new sign-up gets two free 50-minute onboarding calls. Add-ons and the marketing website may cost extra, support beyond a set number of hours may too, and the page also says to ask for an exact quote.
- Storage Commander: Every plan button reads 'Get Pricing' and goes to the demo form, so a price needs a sales conversation. The Optimize plan lists an in-house call centre option that needs its own subscription.
- Storman Software: The page says the monthly price is based on the number of sites and units, in bands with a flat monthly fee, but it lists no bands. It says there are no long-term contracts and no hidden charges.
What to look for in self storage operators software
Units, rent and the gate: not built yet, and we would rather build it with an operator who tells us what matters.
A tool for self storage operators has to fix these:
- Overdue rent is chased by hand.
- Unit availability is a wall chart.
- Gate codes are changed by hand.
Our price
We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: self storage operators.
Questions
About the price
What is the cheapest self storage management software?
Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 3 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.
Why do prices differ so much?
Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.
What would storage software have to do?
Planned: show which units are free, take rent by card or debit, chase what is overdue, and let a new tenant book. Gate codes follow once the rent side works.
Why not use a stock app for units?
A unit is not a product on a shelf: it has a tenant, a rent and a gate code. That needs its own screens.
How would you price it?
Not set. The proposal is a flat price by number of units, with everyone on your team included.
