What pushes the price up

  • We found no free plan among the 5, and 5 offer a time-limited trial.

What to know about each price

  • Spectora: The page says no contracts and no limits on inspections, and each extra inspector costs $99 a month. Advanced, websites and integrated payments are extras, with payment processing fees not shown.
  • HomeGauge: One software price, billed monthly after a 30-day trial that is for new customers only. Websites are priced on a separate page that was not read.
  • Home Inspector Pro: A single plan with no per-inspector or per-report basis stated, and annual discounts only by calling sales.
  • InspectPro (NZ and AU): One subscription covers one inspector, billed monthly with GST added, and there are no per-inspection fees. Yearly prices, minimums and setup fees are not shown.
  • Inspection Support Network (ISN): Priced per inspection processed, in monthly volume bands, so the bill grows with work done; a monthly minimum fee may apply after the 30-day trial and its amount is not shown.

What to look for in building inspectors software

Inspect on a phone, attach the photo to the finding, and send the report before the next inspection starts.

A tool for building inspectors has to fix these:

  • Reports take hours.
  • Photos are sorted by hand.
  • Invoices follow days later.

Our price

We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: building inspectors.

Questions

About the price

What is the cheapest home inspection software?

Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 4 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.

Why do prices differ so much?

Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.

Does it follow the standard for my state?

Report templates would be set up per state with an inspector who uses them. We do not claim to know each standard.

Can I work offline?

Planned: that is a design goal: forms and photos kept on the phone and sent when there is signal.

Can it invoice?

Planned: the invoice from the booking, sent with the report.
