We do not convert currencies. A page we could not read is marked could not read, a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only, and the reasons are listed below the table. Pages can show different prices to visitors in different countries. A price with no currency named is shown with the sign the page used; it may be the United States version or the one for the country the page assumed we were in, so check the page you are sent to.

What pushes the price up

  • 10 of the 10 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
  • 2 of the 10 offer a free plan, and 8 offer a time-limited trial.

Who each one is for

Taken from what each company's own page says it is for.

  • monday CRM: Teams that want leads, contacts and deals organised in one place; the page calls Pro the plan for growing teams ready to scale.
  • Freshsales (Freshworks CRM): Startups and small to mid-sized businesses on Growth, with Pro and Enterprise aimed at mid-sized and larger businesses.
  • Copper: Teams in the industries the page lists, such as agencies, consulting and construction; it gives no other audience statement.
  • Insightly: Any business that sells or markets products or services, in the page's own wording; it names no narrower audience.
  • Less Annoying CRM: Small businesses that want a simple CRM at one price; the page calls itself a simple CRM for small businesses.
  • Keap: Small businesses; the page says it is trusted by over 200,000 small businesses and leads with automation.
  • Odoo: Businesses that want apps such as CRM, inventory, manufacturing and accounting from one supplier; the page says the Custom plan is for companies managing several companies in one database.

What to know about each price

  • Odoo: A footnote says a discount is valid for 12 months for initial users ordered, and its size is not stated.
  • monday CRM: The FAQ says plans start from 3 users, and more than 40 users goes to a quote. Yearly plans are paid up front and monthly plans are not discounted.
  • Pipedrive: Prices are per seat and exclusive of GST.
  • Zoho CRM: The page says its prices include local taxes.
  • Salesforce: The comparison tables carry a Free Suite column at AU$ 0, but it has no sign-up button or limits, so no free plan is shown. Add-ons cost extra, for example Agentforce for Sales from AU$175 per user per month, and no setup fee, seat minimum or contract term is shown.
  • Freshsales (Freshworks CRM): The page has an Annually and Monthly toggle labelled Save 20% but its text shows only the annual prices.
  • Copper: The page shows up to 26% off for annual billing, and prices exclude taxes and fees. Personal onboarding is listed only for eligible Business and Professional annual accounts, with no fee given.
  • Insightly: Extra CRM users cost the same per-user rate as the headline price. The bundled All-in-One plans list required setup, onboarding and premier support fees, but the CRM plans on their own show none.
  • Less Annoying CRM: There is one plan and no tiers, with every feature in the per-user price, and the price excludes applicable tax. The page says no contracts and cancel anytime, and it lists email and phone support as free.

What to check before you pay

  • How many people will use it. Most CRMs price per user, so the bill grows with every hire.
  • Whether the cheap plan has the pipeline you need or only a contact list. Automation and reports often sit on the dearer plans.
  • What it costs to get your data out if you leave, and whether you can.
  • Whether it joins up with your email, your accounts and your stock, or only with itself.

Companies we could not read

These pages did not give us a price we could read. That is a limit of how we read, not a sign that the company hides its prices.

  • HubSpot: its pricing page did not give us a price we could read.
  • Capsule CRM: its prices did not show when we read the page, and a script may be drawing them.

What we do about CRM software

We build a CRM around how you sell: your stages, your fields and your paperwork, quoted in writing before any work starts. If one of the products in the table fits, we will say so and save you the money.

Questions

About CRM software

How much does CRM software cost?

Among the pages we read: in A$ the lowest paid plan is A$19 a month (monday CRM); in US$ the lowest paid plan is US$9 a month (Freshsales (Freshworks CRM)); 2 more name no currency. We do not convert currencies, so compare within a group.

Is there a free CRM tool?

Zoho CRM, Odoo have a free plan, usually with a limit on people, items or features. Check the limit against your own use.

Do I pay for each person?

Why do CRM prices differ so much?

Mostly who is counted, which features sit on the dearer plans, and whether the price is per user. The notes under the table say how each company counts.
