We do not convert currencies. A page we could not read is marked could not read, a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only, and the reasons are listed below the table. Pages can show different prices to visitors in different countries. A price with no currency named is shown with the sign the page used; it may be the United States version or the one for the country the page assumed we were in, so check the page you are sent to.
What pushes the price up
- 9 of the 10 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
- 9 of the 10 offer a free plan, and 6 offer a time-limited trial.
Who each one is for
Taken from what each company's own page says it is for.
- Smartsheet: People and teams who want to track, share and manage projects (Pro), and businesses aligning people, projects and programs (Business).
- monday.com: Teams of any size, with the free plan described as ideal for freelancers and individual professionals.
- Trello: Individuals or small teams on the free plan, and teams of up to 100 that track several projects on Premium.
- Notion: Individuals on Free, small teams and professionals on Plus, and growing businesses on Business.
- Wrike: Small teams of 2 to 15 on Team, teams of 5 to 200 wanting customizable workflows on Business, and complex workflows on the quote-only tiers.
- Teamwork: Client-service teams, with Basics aimed at small teams delivering projects and tracking time.
- Asana: Small teams and professionals tracking projects and deadlines (Starter), with a free plan for one or two people and Advanced for growing teams planning capacity.
- Airtable: The free plan is for individuals, very small teams or light needs, Team is for those who need more capacity, and Business and Enterprise Scale are for large-company use.
What to know about each price
- Smartsheet: Pro is capped at 1-10 members and the page says it is only available to new customers, while Business needs at least 3 members.
- monday.com: Plans start from 3 users (the free plan is capped at 2 seats) and the page says more than 40 users needs a quote. Monthly billing is not discounted, prices exclude tax and depend on the billing country, and a 'special offer' line currently cancels the listed value of each plan's monthly AI credits.
- Trello: The free plan is capped at 10 collaborators per Workspace, and Enterprise is billed annually only. The page mentions a free trial of Premium but gives no length.
- Notion: Notion AI is only a limited trial on each plan, and custom agents are free to try, then $10 per 1,000 monthly credits.
- Wrike: Business and above are sold as annual subscriptions only, and seats are sold in groups (of five up to 30 seats, of ten up to 100, then of 25). The page says prices exclude state and local taxes and are valid only for new purchases on or after 21 January 2026.
- ClickUp: A second block lower on the same page shows Core $8, Business $17 and MAX $100 per user per month billed yearly (each with a higher 'Regular price' shown), and the page does not say which block is current.
- Teamwork: Basics needs at least 3 users and Accelerate at least 5. Annual billing is prepaid for the full term and the page says it saves about 29% against monthly, but it shows no monthly price.
- Asana: The free plan stops at 2 users. Paid plans are per user per month, Enterprise and Enterprise+ are quote-only, and the FAQ says sales tax is added by billing address.
- Airtable: Plans are charged per seat, and read-only collaborators, form submissions and share links are not charged on Team or Business.
What to check before you pay
- Per user pricing, and whether guests and clients count as users.
- What the free plan caps: people, projects, storage or history.
- Which views (board, list, timeline, calendar) are on the cheaper plans.
- How hard it is to leave, which depends on how you can export your tasks.
Companies we could not read
These pages did not give us a price we could read. That is a limit of how we read, not a sign that the company hides its prices.
- Jira: its prices are drawn by a script or an image, so we could not read them.
- Zoho Projects: its prices are drawn by a script or an image, so we could not read them.
What we do about project and task management software
We will not build another task board: this corner is crowded and well served. If your projects are tied to your stock, your jobs or your clients, we can build the view you need on your own data, quoted in writing.
