We do not convert currencies. A page we could not read is marked could not read, a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only, and the reasons are listed below the table. Pages can show different prices to visitors in different countries. A price with no currency named is shown with the sign the page used; it may be the United States version or the one for the country the page assumed we were in, so check the page you are sent to.

What pushes the price up

  • 9 of the 16 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
  • 3 of the 16 show a quote request instead of a price.
  • 1 of the 16 offers a free plan, and 9 offer a time-limited trial.

What to know about each price

  • FieldEdge: Plan prices are given only through a demo, and the page says there is no free trial. Every plan includes an onboarding specialist, and the page mentions annual memberships with downgrades only at the end of the contract period.
  • ServiceTitan: Quote-only: every plan button says Request Pricing, and the page says the pricing is per technician. There is a free demo but no trial or free plan shown.
  • Workiz: Plan prices are given only through a demo request, and card readers are sold separately. The page says prices exclude sales tax and that paying yearly saves $400 or more.
  • ServiceM8: Priced by jobs a month, not per user: every paid plan has unlimited users, and Free is 1 user. Card payments cost 1.89% + 30c on Free down to 1.19% + 30c on Premium Plus, extra SMS are 10c each, and the page says there are no lock-ins.
  • Tradify: Priced per user, so the bill rises with every person on the account, and prices are shown ex GST. A website add-on is $19 a month and SMS quotes and invoices cost $0.20 a message.
  • Fergus: Plans start from a monthly price and a business with 10 or more staff goes to a custom plan, with no lock-in. Extras include timesheet users from $26 a month, contractor users $4 a user a day, SMS $15 per 100 and card payments at 1.95% + 30c.
  • Buildxact: Prices are ex GST, with 15% off when billed annually. Job management starts on Pro, and the Blu assistant add-ons cost $99 to $149 a month.
  • Nexus Service Manager: One configurator on the page: $440 a month for 5 users and the seven base modules, plus a once-off $1,100 setup fee, in Australian dollars including GST.
  • Jobber: Priced by plan and team size, with extra users $29 a month each, and the 1 year commitment option is a 12-month minimum billed monthly. Card payments are listed at 2.9% + 30c.

What to check before you pay

  • Per user or flat. A crew of eight turns a cheap per-user price into a dear one, and a flat price with a job cap into a different question.
  • Whether quotes, invoices, payments and scheduling are inside the price or separate.
  • Job or customer limits on the cheaper plans.
  • Whether it syncs with your accounts, and which accounting product it supports.
