Each price is from the company's own pricing page on the date shown, in its own currency; we do not convert. A page we could not read is marked could not read, and a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only. Prices can differ by country.
What pushes the price up
- 3 of the 4 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
- We found no free plan among the 4, and 4 offer a time-limited trial.
What to know about each price
- Booqable: Barcode scanning and point of sale cost 9 a user a month, extra locations 29 and a rental website 19. The page says no commission is taken on bookings.
- EZRentOut: Each user beyond the included 4 (Growth) or 6 (Premium) costs US$20 a user, and the enterprise plan is by quote.
- Rentman: Only Power Users (office staff who plan and create financial documents) are charged, at one price whatever they can access; basic users such as warehouse staff and freelancers are free.
- Current RMS: The page says zero setup costs and no service agreement or additional support cost. It does not say whether the Australian figures include GST, and it mentions 20% VAT only for European Union buyers.
What to look for in hire companies software
Bookings by date, deposits and returns checked against the booking: not built yet.
A tool for hire companies has to fix these:
- Double bookings for the same item.
- Deposits and damage are argued about.
- Returns are not checked against the booking.
Our price
We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: hire companies.
Questions
About the price
What is the cheapest equipment rental software?
Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 1 in A$, at A$126 a month; 1 in US$, at US$399 a month; 1 in EUR, at EUR 39 a month; 1 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.
Why do prices differ so much?
Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.
What would hire software have to do?
Planned: show what is free on which dates, take a deposit, scan items out and back in, and record damage with a photo.
Why not use a stock app?
Stock counts what you hold. Hire counts what you hold on a given day, which needs a calendar.
How would you price it?
Not set. The proposal is a flat price with everyone included.
