Each price is from the company's own pricing page on the date shown, in its own currency; we do not convert. A page we could not read is marked could not read, and a page that asks for a quote is marked quote only. Prices can differ by country.
What pushes the price up
- 1 of the 6 charges per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
- 2 of the 6 show a quote request instead of a price.
- We found no free plan among the 6, and 2 offer a time-limited trial.
What to know about each price
- NextMinute: Priced by crew size with a 3-user minimum, and the page says the main difference between plans is user numbers. Setup, training and support are listed as included, with no lock-in (month to month).
- Buildxact: Prices are ex GST, with 15% off when billed annually. Job management starts on Pro, and the Blu assistant add-ons cost $99 to $149 a month.
- JobTread: A $199 monthly base plus $20 a month for each internal user, in US dollars. The page shows US dollars only.
- WorkGuru: The platform fee includes the first 10 team members, then $35 a month each. Extensions are separate monthly fees, and guided implementation is a one-off $3,500 (self-serve onboarding is free).
- Procore: Quote-only: an upfront annual fee by product, based on annual construction volume, with unlimited users. Contracts are annual, and onboarding and implementation services are mentioned with no price.
- Buildertrend: No price is shown. The page asks four quick questions about the business, then a call with its team, then a custom quote.
What to look for in builders software
Estimates from a cost library, variations priced before the work starts, and progress claims on time.
A tool for builders has to fix these:
- Estimates are spreadsheets.
- Variations are not priced before work starts.
- Progress claims are late.
Our price
We have not set a price for ours: there is nothing built to sell yet, and the price will be on the page before anyone pays. What we plan to build: builders.
Questions
About the price
What is the cheapest construction management software?
Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 2 in A$, at A$199 a month; 1 in US$, at US$199 a month; 1 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes.
Why do prices differ so much?
Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.
What is a variation and why does it matter?
A change to the agreed work. Priced and agreed in writing before it starts, it stops the argument at the end.
Can it do takeoffs from plans?
Not yet. A cost library and manual quantities come first.
What does a progress claim need?
Planned: the agreed stage, what has been done and the amount. It is built from the schedule of works.
