What pushes the price up

  • 3 of the 5 charge per user, or for extra users, on at least one plan, so the price grows with the team.
  • We found no free plan among the 5, and 2 offer a time-limited trial.

What to know about each price

  • Total Party Planner: A $299 one-time setup fee applies to every plan, extra users cost $25 a month, and TPP Pay card processing is required (clients who do not use it pay $200 a month extra).
  • Tripleseat: Add-ons such as Floor Plans, Direct Book and Tickets are priced individually in a sales conversation. The page does not show a free trial, setup fee or contract terms.
  • Caterease: Extra users are $28 a month, add-on modules and integrations $25 a month each, and a one-time launch fee of $200 a user applies. Payment processing is built in with its own fees.
  • Better Cater: Each extra user is $20 a month. A 30 day free trial is offered and there is no free plan.
  • CaterZen: Unlimited users and orders on the monthly plans, with an enterprise plan by quote. A free trial needs no card, and there is no free plan.

What to look for in caterers software

Every event has a different headcount and menu. Know what to buy, what went out in the van and what came back.

A tool for caterers has to fix these:

  • Quotes take an evening and miss costs.
  • Ingredient lists are rebuilt by hand for each event.
  • Deposits and final numbers are chased by email.

What StockRoom charges

Questions

About the price

What is the cheapest catering software?

Prices are in the currency each page names and are not ranked across currencies: 5 with no currency named. The lowest price is often the plan with the fewest features, so check what each includes. StockRoom is free to 50 products.

Why do prices differ so much?

Mostly who is counted and what is included: per user or per seat, the number of jobs or products, payment processing, and setup.

Can it quote an event by headcount?

No. A quote builder that prices a menu by headcount is not built. Today StockRoom handles the stock behind the event.

Can it track hire gear?

You can count and move equipment as stock. Hire by date with deposits is not built.

Can several staff use it at once?

Yes, each on their own phone, with the whole team on every plan. What you record syncs between phones.
