Case Study: Crypto Trading Platform SaaS Built + Shipped in 4 Hours (AI Website Builder)

This is a working build log from shipping customtradingplatform.com, a SaaS landing site for crypto trading bots, strategy calculators, and live signals — using the AI Website Builder and the new SEO Kit seed script.

Total active work time: ~4 hours over a Sunday afternoon. Total Anthropic spend: ~$1.20. Total third-party cost (domain + hosting): $12/year for the domain (hosting is included on the AI Builder free tier).

We're publishing this because the previous case study (Services Victoria — 342 programmatic pages for $3.45) demonstrated the scale play. This one demonstrates the speed play — how fast a single conversion-focused SaaS landing can ship when you don't fight the AI on architecture.

The Brief

The brief was deliberately tight:

• Single landing page. No multi-page content site, no blog, no docs (yet).
• Conversion-focused. Waitlist signup → email capture → followup sequence.
• Trust-heavy. Crypto is a low-trust category. The page needs to communicate competence in the first three seconds.
• Built on the platform. Use the AI Website Builder + SEO Kit one-shot seed, no custom dev.

Out of scope on purpose: bot logic itself, actual trading execution, payment processing. All deferred to phase 2.

The Stack

The headline-feature here is the SEO Kit — a one-shot script that wires every SEO action item we know works for a brand-new site. Sitemap submission, IndexNow ping batch, robots.txt with crawl directives, OG card variants for the 6 page types, internal-link policies. None of this was done by hand — it was a single command, a couple of minutes.

The Build, in 4 Steps

Step 1: Strip Lovable (45 min)
The site started life as a Lovable-generated multi-page app. We discovered fast that for a single-landing-page conversion site, the Lovable footprint was overkill — full Next.js auth boilerplate, multi-route layout, dashboard stub pages. We stripped everything that wasn't landing, keeping only / and the lead form endpoint.

Step 2: AI Builder content pass (1.5 hours)
We chatted with the AI Builder:

• "Build a landing page for a crypto trading bot SaaS — hero, three pillar features (bots, strategies, calculators), proof strip, three-step how-it-works, FAQ block."
• "Use dark mode with a neon-mint accent. Replace the demo screenshots with text-on-gradient placeholders for now."
• "Add a waitlist email capture above the fold, sticky CTA bar after 30% scroll."

Six iterations. The headline rewrite alone went through three passes — "too generic" → "too specific to one bot type" → "good but lead with the result, not the feature".

Step 3: SEO Kit seed (15 min)
Single command. Wrote 40 action items, the projects row, the lead form, the IndexNow .txt key file. Submitted the sitemap to Google + Bing. Set the robots.txt. Done.

Step 4: Verify + ship (30 min)
Manual GSC verification (auto-verify worked first try via DNS), Bing webmaster verify, social preview check (validated the OG image variants in the Facebook debugger + Twitter card validator), real-device check on iOS Safari + Android Chrome. Live at customtradingplatform.com.

The Result

• Time to live: 4 hours active, half a Sunday calendar time
• Cost: $1.20 Anthropic + $12 domain + $0 hosting
• SEO action items wired on launch day: 40 (compared to "zero, do it yourself" on Wix/Squarespace/WordPress)
• GSC verified day 1, Bing verified day 1, sitemap submitted both day 1
• First Google impressions: within 6 days
• Custom OG card rendered correctly for every social-share check (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Slack, iMessage)

The win wasn't just speed — it was that everything you'd normally forget on a rush-job landing (schema, OG card, sitemap submission, indexing endpoint, robots, mobile viewport, font preload, GA4) was already wired by the SEO Kit. There was no "I'll fix the SEO later" deferred-debt list.

The hero, the pricing strip, the FAQ block — all generated by the AI Builder. The site infrastructure (sitemap, schema, OG card, lead form, IndexNow) — all wired by the SEO Kit. The screenshot replacement, the headline rewrites, the colour adjustments — all done by chatting with the AI Builder over 1.5 hours.

What we'd do differently

• Strip Lovable on day 1, not at hour 3. We wasted an hour iterating in Lovable before deciding to start fresh on the AI Builder. Lovable is great for prototyping; the AI Builder is better when you know what you want.
• Use the SEO Kit seed BEFORE writing content. We wrote content first, then ran the seed. Backwards — the seed should run first so the projects row exists and content writes to the right place.
• Schema validation in the build loop. We caught a couple of FAQPage schema errors only after launch. Should have validated in the Rich Results Test before going live.
